Single as a Pringle

A letter to the next family member who asks me why I’m single....my response is because I’m a badass.

All joking aside, I need you to know that I very much want to be in love and to have my happily ever after, but what I won’t do is settle.

I’m not saying that anyone who gets married early settles, I think we are all capable of love at different stages of life. I personally am still figuring it out at 26. There are reasons, but that is my business.

All that pressure aside to say yes - I want to get married, and yes I intend to when the time and person is right.

Secondly, I wanna take a moment to pat myself on the freaking back. I have single-handedly transitioned into adulthood pretty successfully.

I have a million and one things to be grateful for including but not limited to: buying 5 cars on my own, owning my own home, and building a successful career by the time I take a 26th lap around the globe.

I’m a boss and I know it. BUT!!! I didn't do it alone, I have countless friends, mentors, teachers, and family members who were behind me pushing me to be better. Some of those people may be reading this now. To them, I say THANK YOU. From the deepest deeps of my soul, thank you.

You have helped me create a beautiful and wonderful life. I am in awe of it most days, but what I refuse to do is bring someone into it who won't add any value.

I am selective because I deserve better, we deserve better, and my future goals need better.
